In recent years, information processing technology has progressed dramatically, enabling the easy and rapid processing of large amounts of data. However, as incidents such as the leakage of personal data have occurred, the safe and correct management of the handling of personal data has become essential. SENSHUKAI complies with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, and has formulated a SENSHUKAI Privacy Policy to further recognize the importance of customers’ personal information, and is dedicated to continually improve personal information management and maintenance.

1.Compliance with laws, regulations and guidelines

SENSHUKAI is dedicated to protecting personal data by complying with applicable laws and regulations, the guidelines of the Personal Information Protection Commission, and other guidelines.

2. Personal information collection, usage and provision

As a company conducting a mail-order and online shopping business and corporates business, SENSHUKAI will clearly specify the purpose of use of personal information collected, and will collect, use and provide the appropriate personal information in a fair and proper manner, within the scope necessary to achieve that purpose. SENSHUKAI will not handle personal information in any way beyond the scope necessary to achieve the specified purpose (“usage for purposes other than those stated”), and will take measures to prevent usage for purposes other than those stated.

3.Personal data management

SENSHUKAI will endeavor to prevent the leakage, damage or loss of personal data, and accumulate and store data safely, under strict management. In the case of leakage, damage or loss, SENSHUKAI will take swift corrective action.

Handling of personal information

SENSHUKAI CO., LTD. handles personal information that must be received in order to conduct business operations efficiently in accordance with the following SENSHUKAI Personal Information Protection Policy.


1.Purpose of use of personal information

SENSHUKAI uses names, addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth, e-mail addresses and other personal information received from customers and business partners and information about transactions with customers and business partners for the following purposes.

(1) Mail-order and online shopping business and store sales business

1. To send products, catalogs and postal mail from SENSHUKAI and group companies, and to provide user support involving products and information about new products and services.

11. In the event that SENSHUKAI uses information for purposes other than in the preceding 10 items, customers will be notified of the purpose of use individually.

3.Provision of personal information
(1)SENSHUKAI or group companies will not provide or disclose any personal information of customers to third parties, except in the following cases:
1. When required by law.
2. When the prior approval and agreement of the customer has been received.
3. When disclosure is believed to be necessary for the common good, such as to protect the life, physical well-being, or assets of the customer or a third party, or in the interest of the customer.
4. When SENSHUKAI or group companies transfers personal information to a third party for the continuation of business due to mergers, separations, or transferal of operations.
(2)Irrespective of the preceding section (1), when a customer has used SENSHUKAI through a partner advertising company (including but not limited to loyalty point websites), SENSHUKAI may provide this advertising company with information about customers’ purchases (order numbers, merchandise names, purchase amounts, data from cookies, and other information) for the purpose of notifying the advertising company of the effectiveness of advertisements.
4.Sharing of personal information

SENSHUKAI may share with group companies personal information collected from applications by internet, telephone, postcard and fax, etc., and from websites and email.

5.Entrustment of personal information

SENSHUKAI or group companies may entrust personal information collected from customers to outsourcing companies that have signed a legally binding personal information protection contract. The handling of personal information will be entrusted only to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose of use specified to the customer.

6.Personal information disclosure, revision and suspension of use and other actions

(1) SENSHUKAI will disclose the personal information of a customer if requested by the customer, or a proxy determined by the customer. However, information will not be disclosed in the following circumstances:
  1) When disclosure is likely to cause harm to the rights or interests of the customer or a third party.
  2) When disclosure is likely to seriously impede the business operations of SENSHUKAI or group companies.
  3) When disclosure is likely to violate any laws.
(2) Any errors in the personal information of customers will be corrected promptly.
(3) If the customer, or a proxy appointed by a customer, requests suspension of use of personal information, SENSHUKAI and group companies will suspend use promptly.
(4) The customer may be charged a processing fee when making a disclosure request.
(5) When the customer submits a disclosure request, a copy of the customer’s identification (driver’s license, insurance card, passport, certificate of residence, etc.) is required.
